I’m quirky. I love looking at things, especially hard things, in a humorous way. And then writing about them. I do the same thing with people. But only if they’re me. Because other wise it’s not polite.

Current project:
My memoir, The Breast of the Story, is an intimate, side-eyed look at the lifelong relationship I’ve had with my breasts: growing them, buying them, and eventually losing them…only to replace them yet again. It’s not a traditional breast cancer memoir by any stretch of the skin or imagination; it’s a prequel: what happens before they appear, and a sequel: what happens before they go, and after they’re gone.
The above sketch is an original, and will be in the book, along with a few others I can’t take credit for. I mainly draw molars.
This book focuses on how breasts affect body image, and how femininity, loss, identity, resilience, and rebuilding all come together to reshape that image.
Equally as important, at least for me, was how the athlete’s mindset plays out through it all. Because while cancer is indeed a condition, for me it became yet another endurance event.
In the meantime, I’m actively seeking representation from an agent. An endurance event all its own!
